1. Name
- A. The name of the organization is WORLD BRAHMAN FEDERATION.
2. Objectives
The objectives for which the FEDERATION is established are:
- A. To preserve, improve and enhance the status of the Brahman breed around the world.
- B. To foster better relations between member associations.
- C. To promote the Brahman breed an its use in all areas of the world.
- D. To provide the forum for establishing host countries for future World Brahman Congresses.
- E. To exchange scientific and technical information among all members.
3. Eligibility for Membership
- A. An association or society being the registering authority for Brahman cattle in that country; or
- B. In cases where the government is the registry for purebreds or other organizations fulfill this role, then the association or society which is the representative membership group for the Brahman breed in that country.
- C. If more than one Brahman association or registry exists in a country, then the breeders of Brahman cattle in that country together with the World Brahman Federation will decide who shall represent that country.
4. Method of Application
- A. Application for membership must be made on an official membership application and must be accompanied by a certified copy of the association's or society's official rules, standards of excellence and a copy of a registration certificate.
- B. If the association or society that is making application is not the official recording agency for the Brahman breed in that particular country; then a statement giving the name and address of the official registry must be received with the application.
- C. The application must be approved by two-thirds of the members present.
5. Dues
- A. Dues are $250 per year and should be payable on or before March 1. These funds will be used to pay for the translators, etc. as expenses incurred for the annual meeting each year. These fees may be increased or decreased as the Federation sees fit on an annual basis.
6. Meetings
- A. The annual meeting of the Federation shall rotate from country to country each year and will be decided by a majority vote of the members. Special meetings may be called from time to time by a majority of the Federation and/or Chairman.
- During the year a World Brahman Congress is held the annual meeting will be held in the host country at the time of the World Brahman Congress.
Representation
Each full member shall be entitled to two representatives at each meeting. These preferably should be, but are not limited to the President of that association or society and their chief staff member. In lieu of these two, the association may appoint and send any other person to represent them as they deem necessary.
7. President
The president of each annual meeting should be selected by the host country. He shall have the same voting rights as any other representative. He/she shall remain President until the next host country has appointed the next President.
8. Voting
Voting will be on a country basis with each country to have two (2) votes. If a country has two separate associations the two votes will be shared by them.
9. Resolutions and Actions
- A. Resolutions shall be decided by a majority vote with the exception of change to the Constitution which requires a two-thirds majority vote. No action taken by this group shall be binding on any member organization if it violates the member's own Rules and Regulations.
- B. Standard of Excellence: The World Brahman Federation's standard of excellence is the same as formed and adopted by the Brahman Technical Committee of FICEBU. (A copy is attached and made part of this constitution.)
10. Committees:
The Federation may appoint committees for any specific purpose and such committee shall be disbanded after it has concluded its task. Committees may include technical advisory members if selected by the Federation to serve. Voting is done with one vote per committee person.
11. Duties of the Secretary-General
- A. The Secretary-General shall be appointed by the World Brahman Federation
- B. The Secreatary-General shall be the corresponding person responsible for notifying all members of meeting times and places and shall deliver official minutes to all members, thus acting as the recording officer for the Federation. He/she shall employ translators, contract for meeting rooms, make budgets to be presented to the Federation and pay expenses incurred by the Federation.
12. Headquarters
The headquarters and official address of the World Brahman Federation shall be the international headquarters of the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA). The ABBA will donate the use of these offices free of charge to the Federation; only charging for direct expenses approved by the Federation. |
